Most Valuable Student Scholarship Recipients
Contest Winners

             Ryan Smith of Berea Community Schools is the recipient of a $1000 Elks Scholarship, sponsored by Richmond Elks Lodge 581.  He plans to attend Transylvania University in Lexington and major in biology and psychology.  He plans to attend medical school. 

            Elks Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who are the most qualified academically and are in need financially.

two McCracken county students College scholarships from the state and local levels of the order.

The winners of this years scholarships were:

Nikki Glisson, Senior at Heath High School, daughter of Lee and Jerrie Glisson of West Paducah, will

receive $1000.00 each year for the next 4 years and

Grant Harned, Senior at Community Christian Academy, son of Rhet and Mary Harned of Paducah

will receive a one time award of $1000.00 from the state level.

Both Students received $250 from the lodge provided by the Barkley Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Fund in honor of Paducah lodges secretary of 40 years.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship contests.

Lyndon Lodge 2052 Winners:

Alez Hesen (Waggener High School), step-son of Ed Soto, received $500.00

Ethan Durham (Trinity High School), grandson of Lloyd Durham, received $2,000.

ENF Winners:

Lauren K. Renaud (Oldham County) received $4,000.00 ($1000.00 per year for 4 years).

Jared “Cole” Dabbs (Oldham County) received $4,000.00 ($1000.00 per year for 4 years).

Applications for the Elks National Foundation's 2011 Most Valuable Student contest are available online, at your local Elks Lodge, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Foundation.

Applications are availabe on September 1, 2010 and  due December 1, 2010, to the Lodge closest to where the student lives.

One-year educational grants available to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks.
