KKKentucky State Elks Association
TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Information on this Tournament The tournament involves three sports: Golf or Tennis or Bowling. Each contestant participates in only one of the three events. This is open to both boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 19. -Contestants are sponsored by the Elks Lodges within our State Associations. -The competition includes PA, Delaware, Maryland, DC , Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia. We are trying to stir interest in the sates of Ohio and Indiana and the return of New Jersey. -This is a two day event with meals and lodging provided by Seven Springs, use of their golf course, tennis courts and busing to Terrace Lanes in Somerset at no cost to the contestant. -Through the Elks sponsorship all cost are incurred by the individual Lodge and must be property chaperoned. -Rules and guidelines have been established by the tournament committee and at no time during their stay are contestants permitted to leave the grounds other than to return home. The Seven Springs 2010 KY Front row is Richard Brun III (Tre), Hannah Sublett, Patrick Taft and Drew Rothenstine. Jack Mcgrogan is co chair of the tournament along with Hannah Sublett and Kentucky State Sponsor,Ted Hess,PGER The KY Golfers are Patrick Taft, Hannah Sublett and Drew Rothenstine.
This tournament has been around since the early 1960’s. It started as a golf tournament with Lodges bidding on holding a one day event. In the late 70’s tennis was added followed by bowling. PGER Homer Huhn established a Steering Committee and included the other state associations under his jurisdiction and then formed the Area II Tournament of Champions. The Area II T of C was changed in 2001 because of the realignment of several of the original member states. We refer to our new name of BPOElks Youth Invitational Tournament of Champions and we celebrated our 25th year in existence in 2009. Over the years our number of contestants has dwindled and it has been a concern of both the committee and the state associations that unless we are able to get more Lodges involved, the program will cease to exist. The Kentucky State Association will pick up the cost of $100 per contestant for up to 2 contestants per lodge. Link to Guide Lines
