        HISTORY OF THE TOURNAMENT

This tournament has been around since the early 1960’s. It started as a golf tournament with Lodges bidding on holding a one day event. In the late 70’s tennis was added followed by bowling.

PGER Homer Huhn established a Steering Committee and included the other state associations under his jurisdiction and then formed the Area II Tournament of Champions. The Area II T of C was changed in 2001 because of the realignment of several of the original member states.  We refer to our new name of BPOElks Youth Invitational Tournament of Champions and we celebrated our 25th year in existence in 2009.

Over the years our number of contestants has dwindled and it has been a concern of both the committee and the state associations that unless we are able to get more Lodges involved, the program will cease to exist.

The Kentucky State Association will pick up the cost of $100 per contestant for up to 2 contestants per lodge.
