Florence Elks Lodge #314 hosted an event on June 22 to raise money for local 10-year-old student Brianna Mann battling DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). DIPG are highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumors found at the base of the brain. These are glial tumors, which means they arise from the brain’s glial tissue — tissue made up of cells that help support and protect the brain’s neurons.
The event was a huge success, allowing the the Florence Elks to present a check to the family of Brianna Mann in the amount of $15,575.50. Congratulations to the Florence Elks on the great success of this event, and the assistance they were able to offer this family in need.
