Frankfort Elks Provide Sensory Backpacks for Autistic Visitors at the Kentucky Historical Society

In an effort to expand access to the many exhibits at the Kentucky Historical Society, the Frankfort Elks provided a monetary donation that was used to purchase new Sensory Backpacks. Many times, children who have sensitivities to light or loud noises are unable to enjoy everything the museum has to offer.

These new backpacks include a weighted “Creature Comforts” plush pet from the Autism Community Store, noise reducing headphones, sunglasses and more to help young learners with autism experience the museum.
