Paducah Elks Host a Police Appreciation Lunch

Paducah Elks Lodge #217 recently invited local law enforcement to an appreciation luncheon at the lodge. Ed Sanders, Exalted Ruler was quoted in the Paducah Sun as saying, “We’re proud of our police department and wanted to give them more recognition.” The idea for the lunch originated with Marshall Green, Sr., who brought the idea before the lodge and contacted Chief Brandon Barnhill. Green also pitched on preparing the meal, which included fish, baked beans, cole slaw and cornbread.

Past Exalted Ruler Michael Perry said that the lodge plans to apply for a grant that will be used to expand these appreciation lunches to city and county law enforcement and firefighters in May. Pictured above is Anne Green serving lunch to Sgt. Josh Bryant of the Paducah Police Department.
